No COVID-19 Outbreaks Tied to Walt Disney World or Universal

The COVID-19 pandemic has shocked and changed our everyday lives since the first outbreaks were announced. The pandemic has made a big difference in the theme parks we all know and love. Now that Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando have been open since July, what does that mean for the pandemic, possible COVID-19 outbreaks, and other theme park reopenings?
According to the OC Register, the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios Orlando, no reports of any outbreaks have been reported. This news can also be confirmed by state health agencies and theme park officials. This will hopefully allow for more reopenings of other closed areas around the resorts.
Currently, there have been no news of outbreaks among the 20 reopened amusement parks in the United States. After the closure in March, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park are still awaiting reopening protocol from California state officials. Although some California-based resorts are partially opened, guests and travelers are awaiting the news of these parks, specifically, being open.
The Downtown Disney District and the Universal Hollywood City Walk have partially reopened their retail and dining areas. It seems like these resorts are getting closer and closer to reopening under new state health and safety guidelines. However, the burning questions remains, when?
We hope that when our favorite California amusement parks do reopen, that they have no COVID-19 outbreaks linked to them. If Orlando, Florida and other states throughout the United States can maintain this, we have high hopes for the Disneyland and Universal Studio Hollywood Resorts.
