Ever since the pandemic began, Disney lovers have been looking for ways to bring the magic of Disney home with them. From re-creating rides to finding your favorite theme park recipe, Disney at Home has become the new normal for those who live very far from the parks.
Disney has definitely taken notice of the fact that its fans are looking for at-home ways to replenish the magic which is why so many recipes have been released, Mulan is now on Disney+, and the My Disney Experience app offers watchable content like Designing Disney Parks.

If you are a sucker for The Imagineering Story on Disney+ or love Imagineering in general, this new mini-series is for you. My Disney Experience just released Designing Disney Parks, and although only one episode is currently out, we can see that we will be getting fun Disney history lessons on our phones from now on.
The first ‘episode’ focuses on Disney Legend Mary Blair and her work on “it’s a small world”. If you don’t know who Mary is, you definitely know of her work. All of the colors, shapes, and designs that make “it’s a small world” unique come from this Walt Disney Imagineer. Her style is so specific that you can notice it from anywhere. Take Disney’s Contemporary Resort for example. The feature wall is very specific to the Mary Blair style.
Currently, you can watch Designing Disney Parks on the My Disney Experience app for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Just open the app up and go to your home screen and you will see the new series displayed there! The MDE app has a few other at-home viewing options in the same place for you to check out while we wait for the next episode of Designing Disney Parks.
Unless you are like me and enjoy torturing yourself by looking at park wait times while you are not at Disney, the MDE app may not be something you are used to using at home. The app was traditionally used for wait times, looking at menus at a Disney resort or park, booking dining reservations, and FastPass+. But now there is even more to do. With the pandemic keeping many Disney fans home, the My Disney Experience app now offers watchable content that you can enjoy at home.
Whether or not you are planning your next trip back to the Walt Disney World Resort, download the free app today and experience this at-home magic for yourself.
